Dave is a proud graduate of Indiana University Kelley School of Business, receiving a BS in Finance in 1981, and a Masters of Business Administration in 1989.
In 1981, Dave joined an Indianapolis based bank as a commercial credit analyst. In 1983, after completing the bank’s training program, Dave accepted a position in the bank’s commercial real estate lending group.

In 1994, Dave became a partner in a private real estate firm, PNS Realty Partners, establishing a new business in Indianapolis. In 1998, Dave and his partners at PNS, which by that time had offices in Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Lexington, sold the firm to Holliday, Fenoglio, Fowler, LP, which at the time was owned by a publicly traded real estate firm, Amresco, Inc.

In 2002 Dave was among the leadership of Holiday Fenoglio, Fowler who repurchased the firm, taking it private. After growing HFF to over $13 billion in annual transaction volume, the leadership of HFF completed an initial public offering of stock in HFF 2007.The firm was traded on the NYSE until its acquisition by JLL on July 1, 2019.

Over the tenure of his 27-year career with HFF and JLL Dave completed over $6.5 billion commercial real estate transactions, including debt and equity financings and commercial property sales.

Dave lives in Indianapolis and has been married to his wife, Jennifer, since 1988. They are blessed with three sons.
